Terms of Service

Use Tokori for learning. Don't abuse the AI features, don't try to break the service, and pay for what you buy. We provide the service as-is and may change features over time. Either of us can end the relationship at any time. The full terms below spell out the details.

These terms are a contract between you and the operator of Tokori, identified on our Imprint. They apply when you use Tokori Cloud (cloud.tokori.ai), the Tokori website, the Tokori Mobile apps, or the Tokori Desktop app while signed in to a Tokori account. Tokori Desktop used entirely offline is governed by its open-source license, not these terms.

• You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum digital- consent age in your country, whichever is higher.
• Keep your sign-in credentials and recovery key private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information. We may suspend accounts created with false data or used to evade abuse limits.
• One person per account. Don't share an account with others or resell access.

You agree not to:

• Use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative of minors, or that infringes other people's rights.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, token accounting, abuse detection, or any other technical control.
• Scrape, crawl, or build a competing service on top of our APIs without written permission.
• Probe the service for security holes outside of a coordinated disclosure. Report findings to security at tokori.ai.
• Use Tokori in any way that violates the rules of our upstream AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) or applicable law.

AI replies are generated by third-party language models. They can be wrong, biased, or out of date. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and review any factual claim before you act on it. You are responsible for what you do with the output.

Tokens are an internal accounting unit that measure how much AI compute you've consumed. We may adjust per-feature token costs as model prices change. Material changes will be announced before they take effect.

• Token bundles are one-time purchases. Once unlocked, tokens do not expire while your account is active.
• Pro is a recurring subscription billed monthly. It renews automatically and can be cancelled any time from your account; cancellation stops the next renewal but does not prorate the current month.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable VAT.
• EU/UK consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital content. You expressly consent that we begin delivering AI features as soon as you pay, and you accept that this ends your withdrawal right for tokens already consumed. Unused tokens remain refundable on request for 14 days after purchase.
• We may pause your account if a payment is reversed or disputed.

New web accounts receive a short complimentary credit so you can try the AI features. It is not a paid subscription, has no cash value, and may be revoked if used in bad faith. Limited to one trial per person.

You own the vocabulary lists, notes, chats, and other content you create. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content as needed to run the service for you. We do not use it to train AI models. You can delete your content (or your whole account) at any time.

The Tokori Desktop app and several supporting libraries are published under open-source licenses on GitHub. Those licenses govern that code; these terms govern your use of the hosted service.

You can close your account at any time from the app. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, harm other users, or expose us to legal risk. We will give notice where it is reasonable to do so. On termination we delete your account data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep.

The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are liable without limitation for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, for harm to life, body, or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For damages caused by ordinary negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations ("Kardinalpflichten"), and that liability is capped at the foreseeable, contract-typical damages. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

We may update these terms. We will give 30 days' notice by email or in-product banner for material changes. If you keep using the service after the notice period, the new terms apply. If you don't, you can close your account and we'll refund any unused balance.

These terms are governed by German law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not override the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. The EU online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to, and do not, participate in dispute- resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
